FEBRUARY 27 – MARCH 2, 2014

Richmond International Film Festival (RIFF) brings an array of more than 60 cutting edge films, industry panels, Q&As, live musical performances, and entertainment mixers that usher the spirit of Hollywood into Virginia’s historic Byrd Theater, a venue touted by USA Today as “one of the top 10 places to still see a movie in splendor in the United States.”  The four day event is a one-of-a-kind festival honoring some of the most singularly entertaining projects on the international film scene.

During festival week, many Official Selection filmmakers and writers from around the world will be in attendance as they compete for top honors with the audience and Grand Jury.  Official Selection films of all genres and niches — including short-form and feature-length works — will be screened. The four day event includes many special events that are open to the public, industry panels, filmmaker and writer Q&As, music showcases, and the annual Red Carpet Awards Ceremony where the Grand Jury and Audience Awards will be announced.

Through its film productions, shot in Virginia each winter, the festival also provides a collaborative platform between the local arts community, Virginia talent, and other talent around the world. Through its GenerationMIX Community Outreach Day and its Youth Roundtable Film Series, RIFF  proudly champions creativity and leadership development for young people with a passion for the arts.  [Courtesy: Richmond International Film Festival]

RIFF produces several events each year that bring talented artists together to entertain patrons and showcase their work for visiting filmmakers and writers. One of these endeavors is the Annual Music Showcase, designed to introduce filmmakers and writers to talented musicians from Richmond and across the east coast.

Each year, RIFF selects 6-10 music acts to perform at the Musical Showcase and Sunday’s, Red Carpet Awards. While musicians/bands located in Virginia or on the east coast receive first priority, we will consider other submissions following that review.

Submit your demo to info@richmondfilmfestival.com between the months of August and November each year. Individual artists and bands are both encouraged to submit, and all types of music genres are welcome. [Courtesy Richmond International Film Festival]
