The 2011/2012 ArtsEtc NIFCA Winning Words Anthology continues a tradition of Barbadian literary excellence. This volume features the work of now, emerging and established writers who participated in the 2011 and 2012 Goddard Enterprises National Independence Festival of Creative Arts Literary Competition. Offering a contemporary and sometimes very contrasting mix of prose and poetry with a measure of fearlessness perhaps not seen in previous anthologies, these artists confront timeless and timely questions about their art and their society. They embrace the speculative and the realistic, the tragic and the silly, the local and the foreign (or the just plain strange). This Bajan anthology is for every kind of enthusiast of literatures- the academic, the student and especially the general reader. Winning Words lives up to t its name: with fine writing, good reading and memorable storytelling.
The Anthology, an intitiative of the developmental agency The National Cultural Foundation, (http://www.ncf.bb/2013/) will be officially launched, in Barbados, in November 2013.
